Welcome to beautiful Pass-a-Grille, on the south end of St. Pete Beach Florida. Relax and take in the incredible sunsets, and enjoy the charm of this Old Florida fishing community. You won't find any high-rise hotels or condos, just wide open spaces. This is one of the most spectacular places you will find anywhere in the state.

Located on the intercoastal waterway that connects to the Gulf of Mexico, the beauty of this place is incredible. This is a perfect place to fish, watch the pelicans and seagulls up close, go deep sea fishing, take the shuttle boat out to an island or a sunset cruise, dine at a seafood restaurant, or stroll down Historic 8th Avenue which ends at the public beach. There is also many places to stay at in this area. This is indeed a great place to be.

You can fish along the seawall here, or if you want to get out where the bigger fish are, The Miss-Pass-a-Grille deep sea fishing boat may be more to your liking. This is a twin diesel 51 ft. boat with an AC cabin for total comfort. The regularly catch Red Grouper, Gag Grouper, Triggerfish, Sea Bass, Mangrove Snapper and Grey Snapper. The boat supplies the rod and reel, bait, tackle, and fishing license. Parking passes can be purchased at the bait shop.

MISS PASS-A-GRILLE DEEP SEA FISHING BOAT SCHEDULE

The boat runs Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday. Half day trips are 8 am-12 noon. Afternoon trips are 1 pm-5 pm. The cost is $49 per adult, and children 12 and under are $34.

Full day trips are Wednesday and Saturday, are the cost is $70 for adults and $44 for children 12 and under. If you have never been deep sea fishing, this is a real experience you will never forget. Being out on the water is as good as it gets.

Pass-a-Grille is one beautiful area to spend a day. This is a small dock on the south end of the bait shop. Some of the regulars here catch some very big fish. If you don't bring your pole, you might be sorry, when you see how much fun everybody else is having relaxing and enjoying themselves .

The pelicans love this place. Pass-a-Grille is a magnet for these pretty birds. They hang out here all day waiting for fishing boats to come in. They usually arrive here in large numbers between 11-11:30 am.

The bait shop and Merry Pier at Pass-a-Grille. This is looking south. Here is where you want to stop and get info on the area, as well as grab a cold drinks, a post card, or maybe a t-shirt.

Right across the street is The Sea Horse Restaurant, a great place for breakfast or lunch. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Outdoors is recommended because of the spectacular view. This is where the locals eat.

This is an entrance to an apartment on 8th Avenue/Pass-a-Grille Way. This street is one of the largest historic districts on the Gulf Coast. This is just up from the bait shop off Gulf Way.

This is an older pelican. You can tell by the color of their head. The younger ones have a white crown. Pelicans are a very sociable bird.

This is one of the colorful and quaint shops on Historic 8th Avenue. This one has items by local artists, hand-made jewelry, ceramics, pottery, fiber art, wall decor, post cards of the area, hats, t-shirts, etc. Lots of great things here.

This feathered couple is ready for a plunge. The majority of the pelicans will start arriving here around 11 am. That's because the Miss Pass-a-Grille deep sea fishing boat arrives around noon, and they will clean the fish at the docks. The birds will constantly be jocking for position right next to person trying to get the scraps. It is very entertaining to watch.

Isn't this a proud looking bunch? They look like they own the place. A very sociable bird, and are the largest and heavier of the flying birds. There are seven different species of pelicans. Only the dark colored birds dive into the water for food. When pelicans dive for fish, their beaks are filled with water, which they drain leaving only the fish to eat.

The pelicans at Pass-a-Grille just relaxing with one another and enjoying a beautiful day. If you like pelicans, this is the place to be. Just don't forget your camera or camcorder. The antics of these fine feathered fiends are the best.

The pelicans favorite place is a piling, high off the water. That way they can see fish passing in the water below them. Pelicans always flies along the coastline in two ways. The single line and the V formation.

The pelicans always keep an eye out for fish, especially the smaller bait fish that will darken patches of water as they pass by. These fish are the easiest for the pelicans to eat.

This pelican has a great "birds eye view", literally, everything around him. This one is a little different than the rest. He has lots of spots on his chest and belly.

This is a really nice shot at Pass-a-Grille looking north. This shows you how spectacular this area is. And I couldn't have asked for a more perfect day to be here.

The Great White Egret. This is one of the sneakiest birds around. If you are fishing, they will come up slow and grab your bait right out of the bucket. The record for this species living is 23 years. They nest in colonies with other species in trees, shrubs, and on islands. a very pretty bird indeed.

Above, the famous Hurricane Restaurant located at 809 Gulf Way, right across the street from the public beach on the Gulf of Mexico. The outdoor dining area is very popular on beautiful days. Inside is three levels of dining including casual and formal. The rooftop at the Hurricane is the highlight. The perfect spot to watch the sunset, with a full bar and usually live music nightly. The view here is nothing short of spectacular. Just don't forget your camera.

Another favorite place is The Wharf Restaurant, located at 2001 Pass-a-Grille Way. Plenty of TVs here for your favorite sports viewing. This place features daily happy hour with all you can eat one pounds of steamed shrimp for $9.50. You can't go wrong here.

And the other popular place here is Sea Critters Cafe located at 2007 Pass-a-Grille Way. Visit critters for a slice of tropical paradise. Unwind and dine dockside, deckside, or inside. Relax and enjoy your favorite ice cold beverage. Background reggae and island music make Critters the perfect place to be. Enjoy an extensive menu including the freshest shrimp, crabs, conch, or clams.

And last but not least, Billy's Stone Crab Restaurant in Tierra Verde, just east of Pass-a-Grille. Billy's is an award winning restaurant since 1972, and is waterfront dining at the natural harbor. Here you can enjoy seafood, crabs, steaks, and fresh fish. Their specialty is fresh grouper and lobster. Don't miss Billy's.
